MENTAL HEALTH PROMOTION WITH VIRTUAL REALITY INTERVENTIONS IN ADOLESCENTS
In this Symposium, preliminary results will be shown on the impact of the use of virtual reality (VR) tools on different cognitive and mental health variables in adolescents. In this sense, the effects of different VR interventions (cognitive training in executive functions or relaxation training) on cognitive processes such as working memory and attention, as well as on mental health variables, such as anxious-depressive symptoms, rumination and on the risk of eating disorder will be presented. Finally, we will discuss how VR tools can offer new intervention strategies in the field of prevention and promotion of mental health in a particularly vulnerable group, such as adolescents, and which can show especially high motivational responses to these therapeutic proposals that guarantee their adherence to the treatment.
