SCHOOL COEXISTENCE AS A STRUCTURING PHENOMENON OF QUALITY EDUCATION
Coexistence refers to a network of interpersonal relationships that occur in different social environments, in interaction, articulation and communication with others. School coexistence, in turn, implies contemplating the values implicit in the school institution, the forms of organization, interpersonal relationships, norms and approaches to confront and mediate conflicts, ways of expressing and accepting feelings, social and educational expectations, and ways of promoting care and protection for those who live in it. Human relationships are permeated by conflicts that are part of the dynamics of coexistence with others. It is essential to understand that they are essential to the learning process, to better deal with different points of view, with opposing perspectives, and that, therefore, it is necessary to know how to respect others, their opinions and their visions. Such learning is part of a quality education, which contemplates the cognitive, affective and also social and emotional aspects. This symposium will bring together studies that address various possibilities for intervention and evaluation of school coexistence from the perspective of research developed in Brazilian schools, which aim to improve the quality of education, whether in terms of academic performance, as well as in improving the relational environment and mitigating coexistence problems.
